That means a diversity of films your typical chain store doesn't have. We have spent years collecting arthouse, Australian movies, world movies, B-grade horror & sci fi, cult movies, classics, comedy etc but we confess to having been a bit choosy when it comes to Hollywood-style blandarama. We do not throw out or sell off the older titles because they sit for months not making a cent because it gives YOU our customers more to choose from. As a result our video collection is huge – more than 12,000 different titles so don’t throw out your video player just yet. Yes, you will find New and Recent Releases on the shelves and, yes, we do have an expanding DVD collection.

Trash is truly independent

The business is owned by myself and Der Shadow (who does actually exist, you can see him occasionally lurking near the teapot on Sunday afternoons) and not by some faceless corporation. As a result we have less capital at our disposal; on the positive side, the profit we make goes straight back into buying more stock and helping the business survive. We do not, therefore use a “top 10 most popular” formula approach but emphasise diversity. Look at the shop as an ever-growing film archive we can all be proud of.

The current rental search will be vastly improved with searching by director, actor, genre and many other features currently unavailable.
